C&F have the ability and expertise to tackle Japanese Knotweed in any situation. Using a variety of methods which we can easily combine we are able to build a solution to suit your particular requirements. Knotweed is not a new plant to the British Isles and our experience of dealing with it is extensive.

What Is Japanese Knotweed?

Japanese Knotweed is the most invasive plant in the UK today; it is difficult to kill and it spreads easily. It can grow by up to 4 inches a day and can cause significant damage to man-made structures.

Knotweed And The Law

Japanese Knotweed is not a notifiable weed but it is an offence to spread it or to allow it to spread. If taken off site it must be disposed of as controlled waste in specifically licensed land-fill sites. It is not an offence to have Japanese Knotweed on your land.

How To Get Rid Of Japanese Knotweed?

Japanese Knotweed can be difficult to kill if treated incorrectly. One of the best ways to kill Japanese Knotweed is with herbicide such as Glyphosate or Picloram but others can be used depending on the desired results. It can be dug out or it can simply be buried to a depth of greater than 5 meters.

How Long Does It Take to Kill Japanese Knotweed?

Japanese Knotweed can actually be killed very quickly depending on the method used. Because of the way that Knotweed grows and can remain dormant it is usually best to be able to treat the weed over a longer period of time if possible.
